The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is seeking to fill a tenure track position at the Associate or Assistant Professor level in its Environmental Science and Geology Program to administer its Professional Science Masters Program. The Department of Geology at Colorado College invites applications for a one-year non-tenure track position in Petrology/Geochemistry/Volcanology, to begin in August 2009.
The faculty visitor will teach an Introductory Petrology course; a course in Igneous Petrology or high temperature geochemistry; and courses in the candidate’s areas of specialization. Major Duties and Tasks: Reports to the Physical Sciences Department Chair and is responsible for instructing students in Geology in accordance with College policy and procedures. Teaches a variety of lecture and lab courses in geology. Demonstrates creativity and innovation in the field, and service in the profession and/or the community. Plans and organizes lesson plans, research and reference materials, syllabi, and other learning aids. Maintains office hours to assist students. Serves on college-wide and departmental committees. Participates in graduation, general assembly, and other official College functions. ACC instructors are expected to maintain an established schedule, including possibly evenings and weekends, and including possible multiple campus locations that may vary by semester. The Department of Geoscience at the University of Iowa invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Sedimentary Geology at the Assistant Professor level. The appointment will begin in August 2009. We seek an outstanding researcher and teacher whose approach is quantitative, integrative, and preferably field-based. Areas of interest might include but are not limited to: sequence stratigraphy, basin analysis, quantitative stratigraphy, clastic or carbonate sedimentology, petroleum geology, and depositional environments.
